Here’s my quick overview.
To put it simply, this trimmer is in a league of it’s own. It features a high-speed, high-torque, Italian-designed motor that runs at 7,200 rpm. You’ll love the knuckle barbell grip handle for comfort. Naturally, this trimmer comes with a graphite deep-tooth blade (a great bulk hair-clearing blade that produces crisp lines). But if you want a different blade on your trimmer, Babyliss offer a wide range of blades. It has 2 runtime hours on a single charge and comes with a hanging hook. All-round it’s an excellent liner. If you are new to Babyliss, you might need time to adjust to its shape but, once you get used to it, you’ll love it as it excels in all aspects

Now let’s touch on what this trimmer has to offer in little bit more detail.
First and foremost is the power.
These things don’t hold back when it comes to output from the motor. In fact…
The Gold Fx boasts one of the most powerful motors in the market. It pushes out 7200rpm (this is the amount of time the blade moves side to side per minute). Yes, the motor pushes the blades side to side 7200 times per minute.
When you put that insane cutting action with the DLC deep tooth blades, you very quickly picture how the blades grip onto all hair types and quickly slice through it like it wasn’t even there.
the deep tooth blade is a blade that’s great at tackling bulk hair but if you want a blade that cuts even EVEN finer you can simply swap out the blade on your trimmer with one of the MANYYYY other blades provided by Babyliss. (I chose the gold fx T blade)
This is something not many other brands can do and that’s what makes this trimmer flexible. It’s very flexible.

The battery. With a 2-hour battery life, it has plenty of juice to shape to cut hair basically all day.
I can vouch for it but also as said in the Reddit post others would agree too.
While in use,this trimmer does feel secure, though, this can take some getting use to (we go over this in the next section).
And we can’t talk about trimmer without going over the very calssy and gold finish that really gives this trimmer a premium look. It’s an eye cather and a compliment raiser. (For my barbers who grab this trimmer, you might catch a couple glances as you work 🙂
Lastly, the trimmer comes in a package that comes with a zero-gap tool, a blade guard, clipper oil and more.
Overall this trimmer has a lot gloing for it. It’s among the very best in market with what it does well but…

What’s Not to Like
This trimmer in hand it great, it’s like a want that compliments and contours your palms perfectly but…
It does take some getting used to.
As a beginner/newbie ro Babyliss, getting to grips with that torchlight shape did take a few goes. It just simply isn’t you classic trimmer shape.
This a be an instant turn for some who don’t like it from the bat, (and you can certainly return the product if it simply isn’t for you but I found that after a few goes, you do get used to it and you will eventually come to like how it feels in hand.
Secondly, while its design is eye-catching, the gold finish might not appeal to everyone. It starts off bright and a little reflective but after lots of uses, you can often notice the shine begin to disappear from the product which makes it lose its premium and sometimes can make the trimmer look a little ugly.
This was a problem with the first release of the product but after many iterations, Babyliss has applied a less shinier but also longer-lasting gold coating to their trimmers.
This means they look good for LONGER.
Babyliss also released this trimmer model in a wide range of colors, so from that standpoint, this negative has been negated, check them out below:
And the LAST thing that coule be a “drawback” about this product. That would be its price point. The GoldFX trimmer falls on the higher end of the price spectrum amongst trimmers.
This could be a barrier for some potential buyers, particularly those on a budget or looking for a more affordable option.
However, you can’t really be surprised, Babyliss is deemed to be a luxury brand in this space, and their products are more expensive BUT the quality speaks to the pricetag (imo). And if you truelly want an exceptional clipper, you sometimes have to go outside of budget a little.

Again, getting used to the shape itself can be abit arkward to begin with but after some time you’ll start to get the hang of thing and then you’ll really begin to enjoy the cordles capablities.

It deals with hair hair type and shapes. facial hair, body hair, it doesn’t matter. This trimmer very easily cuts through it all.

The BaByliss Gold FX Trimmer comes with a zero-gap tool but also comes zero gapped out of the box. (The tool is just an added to really make sure you achieve those crisp lines)
