Manscaped Not Charging – (Troubleshooting Guide)

Is your manscaped not charging?

Then you’re in the right place for answers.

In this guide, we’ll go over the main 3 reasons why your manscaped trimmer isn’t charging and what you can do to fix it.

So, with that said, let’s begin

Manscaped Not Charging

When your manscaped trimmer isn’t charging, the failure could lie be:

  • Your charging dock
  • Dirty charging pins
  • Your trimmer battery itself

We’ll go through each of these, and hopefully one of them should fix your trimmers this troubleshooting applies to these manscaped models:

  • The Lawn Mower 2.0
  • The Lawn Mower 3.0
  • The Lawn Mower 4.0
  • The Beard Hedger
  • Weed Whacker
  • Weed Whacker 2.0

Let’s get into it.

Manscaped not charging

First, you need to check if your charging doc/ cable has any damage.

Look for cuts along the wire and check your outlet itself, check to see if it charges your other tools just to make your the outlet itself runs well.

Plug in your manscaped and you should see a blinking light to indicate your trimmers are charging.

If you get a blinking light but the battery barely charges, the fault could be with the batteries, we’ll talk more about this later.

But, if it’s still not charging at all, as long as your battery is ok, then the problem could be with your charging dock.

Tip
Give your trimmer a wiggle while it’s on the dock and see if you get a jolt of charge. If you do get charged when your trimmer is at a certain angle, it means your battery is fine and the fault is likely with your dock.

Go through the rest of this article and if everything checks out on that front, then you may have to get a new charging dock as your current one could simply be faulty.

If it is a charging dock fault,  contact MANSCAPED™ customer service. You will get help there. If the dock is covered by your warranty, they will get you a new one.

But if you’d rather sort the problem out as soon  as possible, you can pick one up from below:

Another thing is your battery could simply be worn out from charging.

Manscape claim to have a smart charging system in the trimmer prevents but over time, all batteries will be working down.

But if you’ve had your trimmers for years, it may simply be the case that they’ve just worn down.

It may do you some good to completely drain your battery and then plug it into your charger and see how much you can get out of it.

  • Just use your trimmers wait for it to go flat and try and charge them up again.

If they don’t charge, you will need to look at getting a new AA 600mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

The only thing is…manscaped have their batteries welded onto its circuit board so attaching a new battery can be tricky unless you’re skilled enough to do so.

If you manscaped had these faults in your warranty you can look to get a replacement or look into getting a trimmer with better battery life.

Charging Pins

If you get no light but your dock is functioning well, then could be a connection problem between your dock and your trimmer, in particular, the charging pins.

Disassemble the trimmer per this video:

Take out the pins and wipe them down.

Do the same for the pin receptors ensuring only the receptor, not the board, is being wiped down.

If possible, scrape off any debris that is on the pins or receptors.

Place your pins and receptors back in your manscaped trimmer and test them out.

Now to go into the sad reality of the battery itself.

At this point if your manscaped still doesn’t charge, most likely the battery must have critical damage.

We’d be talking about water damage specifically.

In the process of checking your pins and cleaning your charging pins if your batter looked like this…

Then that may be the reason your manscaped trimmers aren’t charging.

Manscaped trimmers work on lithium-ion batteries so you could look to replace them.

But manscaped won’t have an easy slot in batteries. To get them in, you’d have to do some solder work which isn’t beginner friendly and can be dangerous.

You’d be better off getting a whole replacement from Manscaped if this is the case.

They claim to have waterproof trimmers so if yours are water-damaged tell them of the fault, provide evidence and they should be able to sort you a replacement.
